Business meet to Promote Hexanol Technology February 29 & March 1 – 2016
The Department of Nano Science & Technology organized a Business Meet for 2 days on February 29 and March 1, 2016, involving University of Guelph, Canada, Industries Rallis, Coromandel and Adventz Group at the Agri-Business Directorate of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore.
During the meeting, Dr. R. Murugesan, Director (ABD) welcomed the gathering and offered prelude to event and the on-going activities of the directorate. Dr. Gopi Palyath, University of Guelph, Canada presented the overview of the progress made in the invention of Hexanal Formulation at the global and its effects on extending shelf-life of temperate and tropical fruits. Dr. K.S. Subramanian, Principal Investigator of the Canadian Project on “Enhanced Preservation of Fruits using Nanotechnology” jointly being funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and International Development Research Center (IDRC), Canada, under the Canadian International Food Security Research Fund (CIFSRF) shared the lessons learned from the field test results and farmers feedback.
